Project Quilting Season 17 Week 6
Polar Bear
This week’s project must fit in your hand. I decided to make a new 3” by 3” piece designed to sit on a tiny tabletop easel. I created a polar bear rendered with thread painting on a small square of fabric layered with batting and a backing. When the stitching was finished I mounted the work onto a 3” canvas by carefully wrapping the fabric around the stretcher and stapling it to the back of the wooden frame. For this miniature I used eight different colors of thread to build depth and subtle detail.
