Thread Painted Birds
They are not paint, but only fabric and thread. My thread painted birds are lovingly free motioned stitched on my sewing machine. The backgrounds are made of fabric cut up like confetti and captured beneath tulle and thread.
Birds are hand cut appliqué cotton fabrics layered over the confetti background.
Thread painting is done by moving the fabric under the sewing machine and using the needle as a pencil. Shading is done by changing the thread color. This time consuming process is what gives the birds their realistic look.
These artworks are 5" by 7" and comes double matted in 8 by 10 black wooden frame with glass.
