These backyard birds are created on a confetti background. This means that they are made of tiny snippets of fabric spread on a background, covered in tulle and free-motion quilted. Each bird begins with a collage of fabrics cutout for each area of color. The magic or realism begins with covering the collage with lots of colorful shades of thread or thread painting.
