Cherrywood Challenge -Storytime

A friend generously gave me her extra order of fabric for this year’s Cherrywood fabric challenge. I had two weeks to finish my quilt, but managed in one. The theme this year is Storytime. I chose to depict the 1922 book The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams . My piece is entitled “Becoming Real.” I was inspired by the story of the Velveteen Rabbit becoming real. To me it represents how we grow to love book characters and how they spark our imaginations, ultimately becoming a lasting, meaningful part of our lives.
